BEACH CLEANUP DAY
Our annual beach clean-up day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 14 from 10 to Noon(ish). We are also planning on applying a sealer to our new beach stairs, once the clean-up has been completed. This is a great time to visit with neighbors and welcome in the warm weather. Bring rakes, gloves, trash bags if you can, your kids (but not your dogs, please) and join us for the stair painting party as well. Speaking of dogs, this leads us to ……..
DOG WASTE ISSUES
Just a friendly reminder to pick up after your dog when walking through our community. And a big thank you to all of you who do so diligently. We suspect that much of the problem may be non-resident walkers. A suggestion: Carry an extra bag with you, so if you observe a “violator”, you can offer a cheery “hello” and “You must have forgotten your bag. Here, I happen to have an extra”. Speaking of non-residents, this leads us to ……….
SHERIFF OFFICE CONTACT
The current deputy assigned to Chesapeake Station is Craig Bowen. He can be contacted through the regular sheriff office line at 410-535-2800. As before, we can report any suspicious, obnoxious, or vandalizing behavior to the sheriff’s office at the above number.
BLUEBIRDS OF HAPPINESS
Keith Pardieck, our CSHOA Vice President, is placing a few nesting boxes around the neighborhood in the hopes of attracting bluebird pairs, or other native cavity nesters. He will be conducting weekly nest box inspections during the breeding season (mid-April thru mid-July), and reporting nesting activity to Cornell Lab of Ornithology NestWatch Project and Calvert County Bluebird Project. If you would like to help out with the monitoring or other aspects of this project, please contact Keith at 410-286-7380.
MYSTERY BOAT!
Sven Thulin, our volunteer “Yacht Club Commodore”, has brought to our attention that there is a dinghy named “Janet’s Speed” in the boat rack that has apparently been abandoned for the past two years. He has been unable to locate the owner. If you are or know the owner please get in touch with Sven at 301- 855-7619 before March 31st. If no owner comes forward the association will put the boat up for sale. And we want to thank Sven for volunteering his time and labor to rebuild the two boat racks damaged by this winter’s storms. If you would like to help with this project, please contact Sven directly.
THAT’S ALL FOR NOW, FOLKS! See you at the St. Patrick’s Day Dance, and/or the Beach Cleanup, and/or just walking around enjoying Spring!

Does anyone out there happen to know how long our boardwalk is? I’m trying to determine how far my run will be if I run up and back three (3) times?
When is the next Board of Directors meeting? I would like to attend. Thank you.
