Beltway has finally completed the sidewalk and curb work. We regret that between unforeseen complications and rain this project has dragged on much longer than expected. One delay was caused by issues that came up with the alley drain (near the steps to the shopping center) behind the townhouses on C St, and another was some of the steps leading from C St to the alley behind the townhouses.
Both caused unseen delays that could not have been avoided. Beltway will pave the three parking areas (Overlook and C St lots, and alley) on Monday and Tuesday Aug 30 and 31. Then after the new lot striping we will be finished with CSHOA work. Therefore, parking should not be restricted this weekend or Friday, and trash pickup should be normal on Friday.
Now for some town news of interest to us:
Last week at their regular Thursday meeting, The Town Council of Chesapeake Beach approved the re-paving of Arcade Ct, Band Shell Ct, Carousel Way and Dentzel Ct. They awarded the contract to Beltway Paviing and the work will begin on or about Sept 1st. The first step is to mill some of the pavement on each of those four streets, that will take place tentatively Sept 1st thru 3rd.
The second step will be to pave those four streets tentatively to take place Sept 6th and 7th. We expect more definitive information from Beltway Paving on this project in the next day or two. As of now we don’t know what their restrictions will be as far as street parking or access to driveways on those days. The town engineer and Beltway Paving have promised a quick and painless effort..
Thanks for all your patience.
